Puki-puki has always been my favourite Ilocano dish. I've always wondered too why the peculiar name but whenever I attempt to ask my GI (as in Genuine Ilocano) Mamang (as in grandma), she'd always "Sshh" me and snap, "Just eat it. It's good for you!" So far, it hasn't had any effects on me and I've grown up ( I hope!) to be a fine, you man. Thanks to my Mamang!

(ay ayaten ka, manang... nagpintas kan...for instance haha!)
And good thing, you stayed away from bagnet...
