How come in every other medium, art is supported by money? Been that way since the royals sponsored classical artists, and rich folk like Guggenheim were patrons of such artists as Jackson Pollock and others. Corporations back artists too. Big bucks. But filmmaking? Could it be that it&#039;s not quite art yet?

I remember listening to a film forum between Kidlat Tahimik, Eddie Romero (I think), and Cesar Montano in UP Fine Arts. At the end of the ceremony, Kidlat disappeared for a while... and returned dancing on stage wearing a g-string. My friend, a guy, went out of the forum with the others, kasi daw, &quot;ayaw naming makita yung kidlat nya.&quot;</description>
