Then, as Dave was talking to instant substitute guest Keith Olbermann, they cut to the CBS News studio where McCain, who was allegedly on a plane back to Washington, was being made up for his guest appearance. On the same network, how bobo is that. Dave said, "You need a ride to the airport?" then he let McCain have it some more. I also caught Bill Clinton's guest appearance on Dave, where he explained the subprime mortgage crisis so clearly, anyone could understand it. Hey, remember when America was run by smart people? I am disappointed that the moderator did not insist that she answer the questions that she skirted because she obviously could not defend the indefensible. That debate showed Sarah Palin to be the intellectual lightweight that she is compared to the substantive, thoughtful, and persuasive Sen. Biden. Some commenters in the Huffington Post and/or Daily Kos (I forget which) are incensed that after that brief moment when Biden choked up upon recalling the tragedy that befell his wife and daughter, Palin blithely segued into her John McCain-is-a-maverick talking point. They called her insensitive, devoid of class, and robotic--that was an unscripted moment that, in all likelihood, was not part of her debate prep, and she failed to muster even a simple "I'm sorry for your loss" in response.
