that would depend on the conditions for the question.

if choosing immortality meant that you could not die even if you wanted to, then no matter what the other conditions are, i choose sex. [anything that follows assumes this condition is not true]
if choosing sex meant that you would die immediately afterward, then i choose immortality.
if choosing immortality meant that you lost any desire for sex, then i choose immortality.

but based on your sci-fi story idea, it sounds like you’re operating under the conditions that the people’s bodies do not begin to deteriorate until one has had sex, and that the person does not die immediately after having sex (or else they would not have time to reproduce) but is able to live a full life (e.g. up to age 90). under these conditions, it is not so much a choice between immortality and sex, but rather a decision of when one should decide to have sex, if ever. (and then of course one would have to be a bit more specific on the definition of sex. as with anything, sex has loopholes).

but given your sci-fi story idea scenario, i think it would be a good idea to go maybe hundreds of years without sex before settling down and aging and eventually dying. i would use the time to make money, learn as much as i can, and perhaps invest in meeting a like-minded mate (difficult to do without sex, perhaps, but oh well).

“Immortality. Take it, it’s yours!”, as Brad Pitt told his fellow Greek warriors in “Troy”. I would love to live forever to see the rise and fall of past and future civilizations, their strength, weaknesses, their technology, their history, what makes them superior or inferior to other races, and learn how too much sex has caused their downfall in the first place (think Soddom and Gommorah). Humans mimic the life cycle of a butterfly: they are born, they feed voraciously, they grow, they eat some more, then they surround themselves with all the cocoons of vanity and possessions; then when the butterfly emerges, it takes flight in search of endless sex and reproduction, knowing that in a matter of weeks, they will die. I would love to be alive a hundred years from now when immortal men like me finally discover another earth like paradise somewhere out there and start a new life as immortal beings. Think of the benefits: no need for sex, food, water, medicine,pride, money, material possessions, relationships, etc. In other words, perfect beings! Come to think of it, weren’t we designed by God (as Adam) to be immortal beings? That is, until Eve (representing carnal desire) and that dang serpent (representing either choice or free will, take your pick) came along, then things started falling apart. And then WE all had to die. Bummer.
