Cats can be trained to walk on a leash outside their territory (i.e. your house), but I've read they need to be trained early, like, really early. :P

Or else you end up with cats like these:

http://icanhascheezburger.com/2009/10/07/funny-pictures-sort/

Or you might end up having the cat walk you:

Cats(felines) have evolved a hair trigger response mechanism all-over their body, which allows them to react automatically to any outside stimulus. The same mechanism can found on our eyelashes. See here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfaSwzfECqs

... any harness would only make them feel like they're being attacked/carried-off by a larger predator(momma cat in case of kittens).

That is quite a feat! On the other hand pure breeds are unnatural. :)

I also want to take my cats to the mall to allow mere earthlings the opportunity to gawk at their magnificence. Aside from the impossibility of putting a leash on them however, both cats refuse to go out of our house.

Whenever we carry Sadie (our female cat) out of the house and put her on the garage floor, she will run in panic and look for open doors or windows just to get back in.

No animal wants to be on a leash. Not even dogs. When I had to take my mini-Pin on a walk, I would put him on a leash, but then going home, he would be in my arms.

Haha! Cats do think they are 'God.'

We had 2 boys once, rescued from the middle of the street. The first seemed like the 'barumbado/Robin Padilla' type, while the latter was the 'Nigel Barker' type. Haven't tried a leash on them though, since 'Robin' would always be out and be home for meals, and 'Nigel' just lounged around the house.
