While most of the population of Metro Manila was stuck in traffic or forced to dance Gangnam style at their office Xmas parties, we were at Cinemanila at Market! Market! in Taguig. On Saturday, Barbara by Christian Petzold: riveting. On Sunday, Amour by Michael Haneke: terrifyingly brave, emotionally wrenching but without a smidgen of sentimentality. Excellent movie weekend.
