…and who’s that?
Every few meters on the highway you see a poster offering a P5 million reward for information leading to the arrest of one Jose Ma. “Bong” Sarmiento Panlilio. According to the poster he committed robbery with homicide and is the most wanted criminal in the country. I’d assumed from the sheer number of Wanted posters that he was a terrorist or head of some criminal syndicate; I learned by googling that he’s the sort one reads about in Vanity Fair, usually in an investigative report by Dominick Dunne. Got information?

The mom of the victim was the one who posted those tarps with the help of the PNP and MMDA. I saw an interview on TV that she would not stop hunting for that suspect, as everyday and night, she sees her son on her dreams, or something like that…

Oh, sons…
Here’s a news from the net [http://www.tribune.net.ph/metro/20080217met3.html]
Fernando helps grieving mom in bid to find murderer of her two sons
02/17/2008
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently allowed a grieving mother to put up wanted person posters along Edsa and other major thoroughfares using the agency’s public posting areas to find the man who murdered her two sons.
MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, through his Public Information Office — Public Affairs Service (PIO-PAS) director Connie Gonzales, granted the request of lawyer Carmencita de Castro of Poblacion, Malolos, Bulacan after hearing the story of how she lost her sons in a brutal crime five years ago.
The MMDA allowed her to post posters of one Jose Ma. “Bong†Sarmiento Panlilio measuring 3.5 by 5 feet in width and height, along major roads like Edsa which tags the latter as among the country’s most wanted persons with a P4 million reward on his head.
The posters identify the man as a robbery-homicide suspect who is facing charges before the Calamba City Regional Trial Court in Laguna.
She told Fernando how Panlilio allegedly “robbed and brutally murdered my two sons, my only children†identified as Albert Gutierrez and Ariel Real in Barangay Makiling, Calamba, Laguna in July 2003.
She said Ariel and Albert, both commerce graduates, were shot eight and six times, respectively.
She added Albert finished his Bachelor of Laws and was to take the Bar examinations in September 2003.
De Castro told Fernando the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the United States used public displays to catch criminals as reported by Fox News.
Quoting the report, she said after a successful test run in Philadelphia of displaying mug shots of criminals which led to arrests, the FBI is further pursuing the idea.
“The use of electronic billboards in crime-fighting has spread across the US in recent years and criminals have been known to turn themselves in after seeing their photos,†Fox News reported.
“I beg and pray to you to please allow me to display the mug shots,†De Castro told Fernando who eventually granted the request.
In thanking the MMDA, the grieving mother said the man who killed his sons is at large, armed and dangerous and anybody can be his next victim.
Gonzales said De Castro’s wanted posters will be posted all over Metro Manila using the MMDA blue pylons for a limited period of six months. PNA

hmmm… 5 million pesos…
if in 3 years i’ll focus on finding the man, travel all over the country (what an adventure!) and post a 2M budget (for 2 years) as my working capital which includes purchasing a magnifying glass and a hip trench coat… hmmmm… that would mean i will earn 1M annually… not bad….
then i want to make it a full-time job!!!
:-D
eehhhrrrmmm…. but spare me though the death threats and the hawak-ko-ang-pamilya-mo-wag-ka-magsusumbong-mga-parak” kind of dialogues…
