TOP 10 SIGNS YOUR PEOPLE HATE YOU. NO. 5… The ONLY shamelessly pro-government newspaper in the country declares you’re dead.
August 7th, 2009 at 1:12 am
Hmm… How very passive aggressive of them, but I apporve.
August 7th, 2009 at 1:13 am
*approve I mean.

The caption under the picture is obviously a mistake. There is no way they would allow Gloria’s wake to be held inside the Manila Cathedral.
August 7th, 2009 at 5:23 am
myrtle, is it because Gloria is pure eeviiiiiil?
August 7th, 2009 at 9:50 am
Quick, somebody make a tee out of the first screenshot.

Honest mistake or wishful thinking?
Paging copy editor… You are not very keen.
August 7th, 2009 at 10:33 am
collective freudian slip.

Oh well this is Manila Bulletin who owns Tempo the new tabloid in town and which never misses an issue with typo. Whew!
Yahook Philippines! Another whew!
Editorial lapse to the maximum level. Apology is not enough.
August 7th, 2009 at 11:19 am
definitely a typo. the coffin’s too big.
August 7th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
Ah, half the country’s wishful thinking. Earlier on, Ted Failon also mentioned “Pres. Arroyo’s wake” live on tv with Noynoy Aquino beside him. That’s fatigue and wishful thinking in one shot.
August 7th, 2009 at 1:13 pm
Everything is subliminal. Pati TV announcers laging, “libing ni Pres. Arroyo”
August 7th, 2009 at 1:56 pm
The scary part is that we can only die once.
Does that give her the privilege, then, to do more mean and cruel and rude decisions because she’s dead anyway?
Nonetheless, the error is really funny.
We really do know how to make somber moments fun, don’t we?
August 7th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
Even Ted Failon repeatedly made the same mistake. I think he said “Arroyo” instead of “Aquino” at least 3 times while I was tuned in, and I wasn’t even glued to their channel.
Maybe it’s the manifestation of Filipino wishful thinking?
August 7th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
That’s a typo. Arroyo is not an elected president.
August 7th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
well, even Ted Failon made that faux pax while covering the la salle wake. i dont know if it was indeed a slip or maliciously said. hahaha.
August 7th, 2009 at 11:09 pm
Ted Failon also made the same mistake on live broadcast. “Sa ngayon po ay bukas na ang Manila Cathedral para sa viewing ng mga labi ni dating Pangulong Arroyo.” (or words to that effect.) Co-anchor Corina (or was it Ces Drilon) was right beside him and made no effort to correct him. Alas, perhaps we are all wishing that IT WASN”T our Dear Tita Cory we lost.

Good riddance if it were true.

DEATH OF ARROYO JOKE SERIES. No 1
August 8th, 2009 at 8:54 am
Ano ba yan. Again: Gloria is on PageSix of the New York Post: http://www.nypost.com/seven/08072009/gossip/pagesix/eat_and_drink_183333.htm

If GMA dies, and the day of her funeral would also be declared a non-working holiday, everybody will be out for sure, to go to the beach that is.
August 10th, 2009 at 8:19 am
funny thing is my parents and i counted the times when reporters paused whenever they were supposed to say Pres. Aquino’s name. one reporter even said “nandito pa rin po tayo sa libing ng dating pangulong A–a—a…Aquino.”
