MMFF Day 4: The award for Least Idiotic movie, but with bonus slow motion shootout set to an old Tears for Fears song, goes to…(The review is up.)
Why is Asiong Salonga (the former George Estregan Jr/E.R. Ejercito who now goes by “Jeorge” Estregan) hanging out with his kids (Baron Geisler, Ketchup Eusebio, Yul Servo, Ping Medina)? No shit, really? Nobody showed him a mirror?

That poster is so bad: it’s so Caparas. So glad it’s not.
I’m curious to see how this won. Someone had some sense not to make Panday win.

“Tondo, the ‘ancient’ Filipino gangland, year 1950.” This phrase owned me. How ancient is 1950? LOL. This is a good movie by my standards. I grew up rooting for Lito Lapid, Jeric Raval, John Regala and Ian Veneracion so I kind of missed those kind of films.

true!! eh di ba nasa 20s lang si asiong salonga? but i enjoyed watching the movie. :)

At dahil nanalo ito nang Best Picture at the MMFF, may mash up ulit nang movies next year. Watch out for ASIONG NG INA MO next MMFF lol!

Hold your horses!
Did Jeorge Estregan just win the Male Celebrity Sexiest Appeal award last night??? There is such an award??? HUWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTT???
I need MORE coffee with all these MMFF awards night news coming in O_o

Untold Story daw o!

Well, I guess now I really may watch this… but yes, Jeorge Estregan probably wants to feel young. Maybe Baron Geisler would’ve been better from an age perspective given Asiong was in his late 20’s when he gained notoriety.

@Brewhuh: That award would have been more credible if it was the Male Elected Government Official Sexiest Appeal in the Province of Laguna.
I’m of the opinion that this movie won because nobody would have wanted to give it to yet another Enteng/ Panday/ Ina movie… though the next best bet would have been YTT, and somebody had to make sure that didn’t happen, either. Oh well.
December 30th, 2011 at 08:14
Oh, YTT was just supremely hilarious. It really shouldn’t win any awards at all. Maricel, who is my favorite local actress, was just awful in YTT and should not have won Best Actress.

Film’s obviously a vanity project of E.R. but it’s a good movie. It’s also the first time I’ve seen students of Romy Diaz school of contravida acting ( E.R., Baron, John Regala) in one movie. Yesss!!!
@stellalehua, True. I think he was awarded “Sexiest Appeal of the Night” b’c Dingdong wasn’t around. Although Ryan Agoncillo deserved his “Erase Placenta ginoong Kutis”and “SMDC Glamorous Male Star of the Night” awards.
