Racism made cute
Ayyyy the return of eugenics! Racism disguised as nationalism: the idea that having Filipino genes automatically imbues one with special qualities. And we thought Dr. Mengele was dead.
P.S. Please hire a copy editor, your grammar is atrocious.

Take this one, greeneggsnham.
…the campaign also promotes bad mathematics and a poor understanding of genetics (from a Punnet square perspective at least).
Assuming that race is conferred wholly from each parent to their child, one’s %-edness can be denoted as a percentage/fraction whose denominators are powers of 2 (i.e. 1/2, 5/8, 7/32, 10/64, etc). To be 30% Indian, one must be certain that at least 19 of your 64 6th generation ancestors are indeed Indian (or possessive of that magical “Indian” gene – whatever it is). Apart from royal family, hardly anyone can claim genealogical awareness to such extent.
Though there are some genetic mutations prevalent among certain people (e.g. Breast Cancer 1gene mutations among Ashkenazi Jews)— it has already been widely established that genetic material is not significantly different between races. So even if that model did have 19 “Indian” great-great-great-great grandlolos and lolas, there no genetic basis to her claim.
I submit yer heneur.

I just saw this ad yesterday in my Facebook News Feed. Help me out here, B—…people are supposed to be looking to procreate based on moods and “fun”, and – shudder – style?
It sounds like a push for genetic experimentation.

Also, this will encourage those clueless teenagers/bloggers to insist that they’re N% Spanish. Haha, no, your ancestors got that surname from a list.

I cringed when I first saw this on the paper last Sunday. Jeepers. It’s so… wrong. I’m 100% Pinoy, B*tch, and I do ‘style’ better than that.

I got this ad through my email and I had my reaction >>> *face palm*
Somebody said that the ad was thought of and written by a 50% Filipino, 50% German…shepherd! No offence to those beautiful German shepherds, of course.
And being full-blooded Filipinos, who find humor in everything, I found this >>> http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/38/robocopy.jpg/

It’s just a matter of time before “50% German, 50% Moreno/Shepherd ” jokes starts coming out.

Apart from agreeing with what everyone else has said thus far, the campaign also promotes bad mathematics and a poor understanding of genetics (from a Punnet square perspective at least).

Ang unggoy damitan mo ng BAYO Mix ay unggoy pa din. They should’ve gotten monkeys as models.
June 6th, 2012 at 22:39
Hoy wag mong iinsultohin ang unggoy. They don’t call themselves 50% chimpanzee and 50% Bonobo.

This is an insult to Filipinos, whether 100% pure or mixed. To 100% Pinoys, the ad asserts that only mixed ones could be beautiful and world class, and could excel in any field/aspect. And to mixed Filipinos, it is likewise insulting to
be admonished to become proud of a certain percentage of one’s genetic make up (the ad subtly presupposes that the mixed person is hiding his Pinoyness).
Whoever wrote and approved this despicable ad is an insult to the Pinoy race, like some senators who participated in the Corona impeachment trial.
To 100% or less Pinoys, I say we boycott this store – bayo, pangalan na lang ay bastos na ang dating.

Kahapon ko pa iniisip kung pano nagiging 80% chinese ang isang tao. 40% father? 40% mother? Diba 40% chinese lang din siya kung ganun? Na-aadd ba ang %-edness ng isang tao? I’m so confused!
BTW May German Moreno version na: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v39/mistervader/KuyaGermsjpg.png
